The Strategic Applications Engineer (SAE) for Union Semiconductor provides technical support for the Company's Power product line and supports industrial and consumer customers throughout world. Additionally, the SAE promotes product solutions and trains the sales force, as required. The ultimate objectives of this position are to assist customers with design-in of our Power supply and power management products, to aggressively win customer design and grow revenue for Union Semi in this market. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and will build on Union Semi's successes with power supply and management products.

This role is for a person with broad electronic design, device testing and problem solving skills who will be leading our design in and support our current and new integrated circuits in the interface and protection field. Talking to customers and occasional customer visits will be required in order to help with the customer design-in of our products. They will help with the board level development of new applications and with the support of existing products. Essential Duties:

• Defining new products for industrial, telecom, datacom, computing, set-top boxes and other emerging products. Actively work with marketing, design and/or customers to collect, generate, investigate, analyze, and verify new product ideas. Create and draft target datasheet with specifications, applications, general description and electrical characteristics.
• Work closely with design engineering throughout the design process and phase reviews to ensure compliance to specifications & customer requirements.
• Work with test & design engineering to fully characterize, validate and verify final product. Update and improve datasheet
• Generate application circuits and demo boards with circuit design steps, component selection, circuit schematic, bill of material, PCB layout, test procedure and reports.
• Support design-in's and design-win's through interfacing with FAEs, clients, field sales & marketing personnel. Provide focused applications support of selected power management solutions for customers if needed.
• Write and publish technical articles, application notes, design notes, etc.

• BSEE with more than 7 years industry experience or MSEE with more than 4 years industry
• experience in communication product areas.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience on system interconnect, ESD
• protection, EMI Reduction as well as Overvoltage and over current protection Integrated
• Circuits.
• Strong background in analog IC, microprocessor/microcontroller/FPGA, digital control
• methods and implementation.
